Did you know that 5-10% of all cancer cases may be linked to genetic variants that increase cancer susceptibility? Our Hereditary Cancer Testing Service helps identify genetic changes that could raise your risk of developing certain cancers. Available to anyone over the age of 18, regardless of family history, this service can be accessed at the Harley Street Physicians.

What is Hereditary Cancer?
Hereditary cancer is caused by inherited genetic changes in cancer susceptibility genes. You may be at risk if you or a close relative have:
- Developed cancer at an early age.
- Had multiple primary cancers or cancers in paired organs (e.g., both breasts).
- Had more than one tumour in the same tissue.
How Does the Testing Work?
We use a simple saliva sample for genetic testing, with a complete collection kit and instructions provided. The sample is analysed using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), a cutting-edge technology that studies the genetic code for potential cancer-related changes.
